Their set list also consisted of crowd favourites (which lead singer Bruce Dickinson wouldn’t call old songs, but rather “legacy songs”). These included hits such as “Hallowed be Thy name”, “Iron maiden”, and “Fear of the dark”.

The stage was further enlivened by eye-catching pyrotechnics, creative costume changes by Dickinson and, of course, a much applauded appearance by Eddie, the band’s trusty mascot.

Overall, Iron Maiden’s Jo’burg show was a night to remember, and fans were sent home tired, but happy as the band promised to return to SA soon.
