UP students who possess valid student cards will be able to enter the sports grounds free of charge, while the general public will be able to purchase entrance tickets at the cost of R20 each. These entrance fees will be used to contribute to the main purpose of RAG, which is to raise money for charity. TuksRag is a non-profit organisation that is run and managed by students. RAG, or “Reach Out and Give”, has a very strong tradition of contributing to charity and serving the public. Funds are raised through various means such as RAG and sponsorships, and are donated to numerous charities and communities.

Prof. Cheryl de la Rey, the UP’s vice-chancellor and principal, will officially open the RAG procession with an address at 10:30. The procession will last for approximately two hours, followed by the floats being stationed for viewing purposes. Beverages and food will be sold on the grounds.

It is important to note that admission to the RAG farm (situated next to the LC de Villiers sports grounds) is only for registered UP students who possess a valid student card.
